You will start off with a week-long tour through some of China's most historic cities, including Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghai, then spend your second week in Nanjing with your hosts, meeting people and interacting with other local organizations and cultural institutions.

Nov. 1, 2018 - Beijing

Today your amazing China tour begins!

You will board the outbound flight to Beijing. Enjoy the on-board food, beverages, and entertainment.

Nov. 2, 2018 - Beijing

We arrive in Beijing, the capital city of China.

Upon arrival, we will be greeted by our local tour guide and transferred to our hotel.

You will have free time to rest, relax and acclimate to your new time zone.

Nov. 3, 2018 - Beijing

This morning, you will sightsee at Tiananmen Square, which is noted as the largest public square in the world.

Next you will visit the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City was the Chinese Imperial Palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty. For almost 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government.

You will enjoy a local lunch then stop at a Pearl Factory to gain a little knowledge of fresh pearls.

Visit the Summer Palace, comprised of 800 buildings with more than 9,000 rooms.

Nov. 4, 2018 - Beijing

The Great Wall of China is one of the seven greatest man-made wonders of the world and is definitely the focal point of China. Today, you will hike along the Great Wall, Juyongguan Pass.

After that, you will stop at a jade museum to learn the history of jade. In Chinese, jade is pronounced as “Yu,” and it has a history in China of at least four thousand years.

Later visit a Traditional Chinese Medicine Center and enjoy a free foot-massage.

Optional: Golden Mask Dynasty Show – A family-friendly dinner show with spectacular costumes, ballet dancing, and acrobats. (Additional $49 USD per person.)

Nov. 5, 2018 -Beijing/Xi'an

Today after breakfast, you will fly to Xi’an. Xi’an, the former capital of China, enjoys a rich history of 5000 years.

Visit Small Wild Goose Pagoda, which is located inside the Jianfu Temple in southern Xi’an city and one of the famous landmark of Xi’an.

Optional: Dumpling Banquet & Tang Dynasty Stage Show – A family-friendly show with special cooked dumplings and traditional food. (Additional cost of $59 USD per person.)

Nov. 6, 2018 - Xi'an

In 221 BC, Qin Shi Huang unified China and became the first emperor. When he died, an entire Terra Cotta Army was constructed to be buried along with the emperor. It was uncovered in 1974 by farmers, and then became one of the century’s greatest archaeological discoveries. You will visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, and Terra Cotta Army replication factories.

Nov. 7, 2018 - Xi'an/Shanghai/Suzhou

Today, after breakfast at the hotel in the morning, you will fly to Shanghai, then be transferred to Suzhou.

Suzhou, which dates back to 514 BC, is sometimes called the “Venice of the East.”

You will visit Shan Tang Street which has always been regarded as the first name of Suzhou ancient streets. It has a long history of about 1,100 years, its layout and architecture are the best to represent the characteristics of Suzhou’s old alleys, and it has connections to many ancient Chinese celebrities and anecdotes.

Optional: Boat ride on the Grand Canal and walk around local market (Additional cost of $29 USD per person.)

Nov. 8, 2018 - Suzhou/Hangzhou

Today you will visit the Lingering Garden of Suzhou. The Lingering Garden is a renowned classical Chinese garden and is recognized with other classical Suzhou gardens as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

China is known for its silk, so we will take you to the Silk Spinning Factory. You can see firsthand where the entire process of manufacturing silk.

Then, we’ll drive you to Hangzhou. Hangzhou is one of the seven capitals of ancient China.

Take a small boat ride on the West Lake which reveals the ethereal beauty of Hangzhou’s willow-draped islands.

You will admire the Su Causeway. It was built in the fifth year of Yuanyou Period in the Northern Song Dynasty (1090) and has evolved since then. At that time, Su Shi (Dongpo), a poet known as the prefect in Hangzhou Prefecture, had the West Lake dredged, and built the Su Causeway by dredged silt.

Nov. 9, 2018 - Hangzhou/Shanghai

This morning, we will visit the Green Tea Village in Hangzhou since Hangzhou is known for its green tea. The best harvests of the tea was traditionally reserved for government officials and the wealthy elite. Here, you can try some free samples of fresh tea like a traditional Chinese.

After this wonderful experience, we will then drive you to Shanghai to visit the Bund as well as the Gem Exhibition Center.

Shanghai is divided by the Huang Pu River into eastern and western sections. Modern mega high rises are seen on the eastern side while traditional European style architecture may be seen on the western side. The Bund is a five-block riverfront promenade with many of Shanghai’s banks and trading houses.

Free day at leisure for last minute souvenir shopping or just relax at your hotel.

Today after breakfast, we will transfer you to the train station to board a train to Nanjing.

Arrive into Nanjing in the afternoon.

Nov. 12, 2018 - Nanjing

Visit to a local high school or  kindergarten.

Evening: Chinese folk music concert

Nov. 13, 2018 - Nanjing

Visit Senior Citizen College or other Chinese organization.

Visit the Confucian Temple Area.

Meet with host families in the afternoon.

Dinner and overnight with host families.

Nov. 14, 2018 - Nanjing

Continue the home visit in the morning time.

Back to the hotel in the early afternoon.

Overnight at the hotel.

Nov. 15, 2018 - Nanjing

Morning – Depart Nanjing for Shanghai, head to next destination or return home.
